Those of you who stop me in the hallway to congratulate me for updating... wow, that is incredibly nerdy. I'm not that bad with updates am I? Geesh! I didn't realize people actually use these things~! I think I need a deadjournal, they used to exist you know...then they died. Seriously, I'm not just being pun-ishing. Anyway, back to being evasive for the next 7 months!
P.S. I'm going to Ithaca and will say hi to Odysseus (you do the math) next week, woo!

12:46 am - I live..!
|
Well, yet again, I realize I never update this poor thing, collecting dust on its lonely corner of the internet. So it's time for my brief, once-every-6-months glance into my ever-exciting life. Well, I survived the horrors of applying to graduate school (see, I actually had an excuse to not update this time!), GRE's and all, and I just went to UC-Berkeley for an interview. I shall soon be Dr. Jackie! Hottt. Anyway, here's some pictures...

I just discovered these brownies at an awesome store out here called Trader Joe's -- they have really cool organic, healthy crap. And pudgeless brownies. Innocent illustration of pudgelessness, or malignant attack at consumers? You decide!!!

I went to the beach the other day with a friend I met through our Psych experiment (don't ask). Usually when I go to the beach I go to the secluded area on campus so I can lay out like a beached whale in peace, but this time we went to a popular beach called "Butterfly Beach." Sounds all peaceful and happy, right? Well it was all crowded as you'd expect and we wander around to find an empty spot in the sand. What we failed to notice was that we'd wandered into Gansta Land. We flop out like porposes and the homey boys next to us blare their (c)rap music, which subsequently drowns out the waves. Honestly, what the hell is the point in going to the beach if you blare your garbage and sit around with beer anyway? Just get a sandbox and do it at home.

3:39 am - YAY GO ME!!
|
I'm sorry all, but I just must announce some crap I've encountered lately. Call me bragging or whatever, but I got a $3,500 Psi Chi Research Grant!! Very competitive, from the national psych honors society, and meeee! This is of course in addition to the 3 $$ grants from my university to come here to begin with, and $$ for travel to Chicago. Whee! *ahem* Ok, as out of character for me as that was, many have insisted I deserve to be bouncy and ecstatic, so there you have it, deal. ;)

4:52 pm - Update!
|
I know I never update this thing enough, everyone always yells at me for it! But it's not without good reason! So, I've been out in Santa Barbara, California fending for myself while I do research at the VR lab out here at UCSB (Research Center for Virtual Environments and Behavior -- ReCVEB). Me and Michael drove, first from Michigan to Chicago, for less than 24 hours for me and Dr. Altermatt to give our poster presentation on chivalry at the 2004 Midwestern Psychological Association Conference, then from there we drove to San Jose, CA. We did the 33 hour drive in 40 hours thanks to Nazi Military Michael who barely permitted pee-breaks. ;) San Jose was wonderful, I crammed a lot of shopping and gift-buying in. ;) After a week there we drove to Santa Barbara, where I originally was staying with my "Great Aunt and Uncle," whom ultimately went insane and I was forced to sneak out of that place during the night like a prisoner. Was messed up. So now, 3 weeks into my stay in SB I'm staying with the grad student I'm collaborating with on my project.
It's been busy, those 3 of you who actually read this: forgive my sparse updates!

12:35 am - Gasp, and again!

So, I have this friend named Ling who recently came to America from Hong Kong (a year ago or so), to go to school. I met her in Calc last semester, woo. Anyway, she says the funniest things.
Funny Ling Stories, Episode 1.0b1
(The name of this brand new series could change if anyone has an ounce of creativity--I don't, I haven't slept and I dropped my cell phone on my face earlier and it hurts.)
She had this thai iced tea I bought her and handed it to me to "hold," so naturally I take a drink. She looks appalled and starts flailing her arms, squaking "I did not say yoo coood hovv a byte!!!" She's also been known to 'drink' her pastries.
She loves to point out that her skin is smooth and soft, and makes people pet her wrist to prove it. I told her it feels like a baby's butt and so now she goes around "showing people her baby butt," heh.
I teach her english. Muhaha. No seriously, slang she doesn't know, I clarify. She asked me what a "heart chip" was, and I was stumped. Then I recalled telling her about my brother's girlfriend who he called a "hot chick." So this was Ling's permutation of that, and when I explained that it meant "attractive girl" she was so happy to learn new slang she started calling everyone a "heart chip." Yes, even non-hot non-chicks, like the beanbags at Meijers, *shudder*.
Michael and I saw a bearded chick at Meijers. Worst thing was it was so well groomed.. Ugh.

I am going to excercise my coolness. Watch me flex my muscle of can't-stand-dumb-reality-shows-like-detect-if-that-guy-is-gay-or-not. I just finished watching my big fat obnoxious fiance!
Whatever.
Anyway, yesterday I sit down in Health Psychology class, not my favorite but it's interesting, and I take off my coat. Exciting so far, huh? This guy behind me seems surprised or like he just sat on a sponge or something, and says,
"Wow Jackie, I didn't realize you were that skinny."
"Uh.. ok, thanks... I think."
"Well I mean, uh, I just thought you were bigger."
"Oh, so you thought I was a fatty."
*guy fumbles and sputters and spits and mumbles something to the degree of nevermind*
Ok, maybe I'm just not up to todays lingo, but what the hell does that mean? Is that a compliment or an insult or the product of some weird drugs or what?

3:39 am - When toilet paper attacks! Series Premier.
|
The Cast: 7 guys, a girl, and 200 rolls of toilet paper

The Target: some guy I've never met that someone doesn't like
The Plot: Well, my cousin Ryan was getting married Saturday, so we all decided to perform the above. At 1am we decked out in ninja gear and face paint and grabbed our walkie-talkies and weapons and headed out. We encountered a few random monsters along the way, but everything worked out when they learned defending didn't do anything and just let us by. We were there an hour, and did our stuff including obscenities in the road and very large arrows pointing towards the house. Not to mention some, uh.. far too well "drawn" anatomy.
The Result: See for yourself.

11:48 pm - Light sabers!
|
Whoosh! Ah, the sound of me kicking ass. I tend to do that a lot you know. A few weekends ago some friends and I got together and battled with light sabers. The result? Pure carnage and me the sole survivor! Well it wasn't quite that bad, but Kurt did have some vicious war wounds, claiming he was "holding back because I'm a girl". Ha! Check me out in action:

Here I am again, I just can't stop showing off my mad sabering sk177z:

It kinda sucked though, cause after going at it for awhile, totally laying into him, I broke my light saber! It just totally shattered, green chunks flying everywhere. Grr. Oh well, I have a birthday coming up soon, *hint hint*.
Here's another cool one, this cracks me up so much. This time it's Phil kicking his ass. Poor Kurt, it must suck to.. well, suck so much. ;)

Ok, I'm done babbling ...for now. I'll prolly update again in another 6 months, not that anyone even reads this, so I might as well just post other useless info like credit card numbers and stuff. =p

Yeah, so I realized I only update this thing when I change my picture.. Oh well, like I said last time, no one reads it anyways. :P So uhm, it really sucks updating after the last time, I mean I see that picture of my yummy cookies.. Ugh.
So I'm playing FFIX, and anyone who doesn't have it needs to immediately either a) buy and play it now or b) be drug out into the street and shot repeatedly and then forced to look at www.uglypeople.com for the remainder of their life. Yes it's that good. Well I was going to post a few cool/funny pictures from it but I don't want any loser who hasn't played it getting fiesty at me. ...Then again, no one reads this, hmm.. Okok, just one. Here's some hot vivi action.

Heheh, those of you who've played this will get it, and those of you who don't.. uhm, I'm not a sicko. :P
And I'll end this post with a cool picture of Beatrix, because she's just so cool.

I know I haven't updated this thing in awhile, but eh, oh well, not like anyone reads it anyway (no, you three don't count :P). ;) But I suddenly and randomly decided it was time to change my picture because it just occured to me that my old one made it appear that one of my eyeballs was the size of a grapefruit while the other an apricot after some freakish accident or something. Not that this one is much better, but ah well, it's something new, so like it, damnit.
Oh, and the update is called that because of, well, this:

I made them last night. Yes, I'm aware they look like boobs. :P
Meh, they taste good. If anyone takes that out of context they'll be finding themselves beaten into last tuesday by my IPB strength.
Oh yeah, and they're in front of my AC because I wanted them to cool faster than the current temperature was slowly doing. :p

6:01 pm - Thor sighting at McDonalds!
|
Ok, I'm on the phone with Thor right now and he's insisting I update so here we go. He wanted you all to know that he accidentally spilled his cup of coffee at McDonalds and everyone in line began shouting, "Sue! Sue! Sue!" and volunteering to witness in court. Also, today Thor and I got to talk to eachother's moms. Wow we're fruity.
Poor Pugsly. And no, I don't think I'll elaborate.

Just watching Weakest Link and man, some of those people look really stupid. I don't mean intellectually stupid (though that applies as well) I mean they really look stupid. This Amanda character looked like a cross between a valley girl and an eggplant or something, and the Patrick guy, while having a cool name (;)) and a pretty good player, resembled my pet rabbit and an inbred Burtonite. Alycee was cool, standing up to Anne, even if her name did have illegal usage of a silent vowel. Ok, it's over so I'm done.
